I’ve been flattered that Listen First! has been translated into Korean and Indian editions. The Korean version is out and selling well. The Indian edition will be released soon.
The Italian and Japanese versions expand on the core US version. For the Italian version local listening and digital researchers Daniele Lombardo and Antonio Pepe worked on the translation. They conducted interviews with Italian business leaders on listening and social media including Fiat, We Bank, Henkel. As a result, the Italian version will have a new chapter with the interviews and an overview to them. The book comes out on February 15th and I will keynote the launch event, which is sponsored by Demoskopea, the Italian digital and traditional market research company that provided valuable financial and business support for the version, and IBM. I’m really looking forward to participating and reuniting with my Italian friends.
In Asia, the Japanese version will also be expanded, but a little differently. For that one my Japanese colleagues have recruited leading businesspeople and academics to write introductions to groups of chapters, along with two essays. That version will be out sometime in April and celebrated with a launch event and conference. As in Italy, I’ll be keynoting that event and am excited to visit with my Japanese colleagues and sponsors.
I hope to learn a lot about listening and social media practices in Italy and Japan, and then share that with you.
